Purple kingsessing pole bean

(Phaseolus vulgaris)purple kingsessing, also known as lenape Blue Bread Bean,these dry  bean have a delicious meaty flavor and are used for stews and baking into bread,six foot vines yield an abundance of purple pods filled with dark purple seeds,with a fair amount of tannish  brown off -types,if saving seeds for replanting ,
considering sowing only  purple seeds.

Dating from the mid-1600s,this is the  oldest documented Lenape pole bean.
