Dioscorea alata (purple ube)

Discorea alata  _also called  ube ,ubi,uwhi, purple yam  or greater yam,is a species of yam (a tuber) the tuber are usually a vivid  violet-purple  to bright  lavender .they have  mildly sweet , earthy. And nutty taste ,purple  yam  tend  to  have a moister  texture  than sweet  potatoe , purple yam also have higher  anthocyanin conten  than sweet  potatoe , perfect for steaming, baking  .

Grow well planting ube tuber  in 15cm  deep in the soil, with sprout  facing upward ,in the pot  or directly in the garden  , drought-tolerant, typically  ithe takes about  9 to 18 months  to harvest  ube, it also depends on weather  that you have  , harvesting when  your plants dry.
